My favorite part of New Yorker magazine is the cartoons. Can’t reprint it because of copy right laws but it a drawing of a magician and his female assistant sawing a box in half with a child in the box. The magician’s assistant is saying to the child in the box, “Your dad and I are getting a divorce.” It is a perfect metaphor for a divorcing couple dividing their property and children. All too often in divorce there is destructive and foolish division of assets and parenting time. This is usually avoided in mediation.
