When my parents purchased their first new car, a 1955 Plymouth, I started seeing it everywhere. I have notice the same phenomenon many times since.
I did not know it had a name until recently. It is called frequency illusion or the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon. “It is a cognitive bias which describes a curious psychological fact: after learning some bit of new information we start noticing it everywhere else.” https://www.damninteresting.com/the-baader-meinhof-phenomenon/. It happens because of the way our brain works. It relates to divorce because when a couple decides to divorce, they will suddenly find that many other couples are getting divorced.
