I recently watched President Trump gives his first State of the Union address. A “State of” is now a popular speech for Governors who give a State of the State and Mayors
who give a State of the City address. It made me think that I should blog on the State of Mediation. I am happy to report that the State of Mediation is very good. Mediation continues to be used by more and more people to resolve their conflicts in efficient and cost effective process. More Courts are adopting it. When I was in law school, I never heard the word mediation. Now most law schools not only have mediation courses but also have mediation clinics. There are more and more stories in the media about mediation and many television shows include mediation in their plots. Online Dispute Resolution is beginning to take hold and may be the wave of the future.
